The Beads light design by Winnie Lui for Innermost UK, captures light and space. These hovering molecules of light are spectacular as they seem to adhere together with the no real visible fixings. The designer, Winnie Lui, graduated from London’s Central Saint Martins College in Fashion, Communication and Promotion and then acquired silver smithing skills from a jewellery designer. This fusion of skills enabled her to be able to tie the different elements together to create a beautiful resolve.
The challenge of this lighting fitting was to create a design, which appeared to just sit together, almost through pure magnetism and could also be arranged into different styles such as the PENTA or the OCTO. The lights are constructed from spun steel and polycarbonate and can be finished in chrome, copper or black gloss reflective surfaces. The design team at Innermost were able to find a neat solution using a tri based polycarbonate connector to unite the form.
