This is an interesting design project by Plastique Fantastique that creates public architectural works in the cities using giant plastic bubbles that astonish the public. Plastique Fantastique wishes its architectures to be spacial experiences and platforms for multi-sensorial actions. The plastic-spheres was custom designed for special events worldwide. The visitor can experience the bubble by entering it or interacting with it from the outside, it changes completely the perception of the space. These fluid structures can lay on the street, skirt a wall, infiltrate under a bridge, float on a lake, invade an apartment and generate an urban premiere.

Plastique Fantastique realizes temporary plastic-spheres custom designed for special events worldwide. These fluid structures are placed in natural and urban landscapes: they skirt a wall, slip under a bridge, lie on the street, invade an apartment and even float on a lake, ergo generating an exclusive space perception and experience.

The spheres are not only architectural art pieces but also containers for a wide range of inspiring cultural and social events, such as exhibitions, lectures, fashion shows, parties, concerts and product launches.

The characteristical structures are made out of a mix of transparent, translucent and opaque plastic material providing different lighting conditions.

Depending on the shape of the structure, the material used and the event, different binding systems can be applied, such as welding, gluing, or sewing. Furthermore, a wide range of light effects may complete the visual impact of the installation.

The inflated surface can also be used as a projection screen. The projections are distorted by the amorphous surface of the fluid structure, contributing a new element to the two-dimensional images.

This exterior/interior relationship affects the public. The separated space entices the people to interact with the plastic boundaries, thus modifying and breaking down the spatial limits.

Through the juxtaposition of public and private, existing and new space, as well as the interaction of optical, acoustical and social aspects, the inflated installations generate a new multisensory and multimedia landscape.
