The Spanish designer Alberto Gorgojo presents the IBÉRICO lamp, inspired by one of the most iconic object of the culture of his country, the ham or “jamón serrano”. Manufactured by master craftsman Joaquin García Huertos, the lighting object is comprised of different leathers where the combination of thin goat skin and thick cow hide provides a contrast in material opacity.
The lamp holder refers to the rope with which they usually hang these legs of ham in the drying process, and is made of a bent tube wrapped in rope. This structure create a visual composition to look like it is rigid since the floor.
This design belongs to the series Artesanía & Diseño (Craft & Design) being developed with different Spanish craftsman.
