Kuttham restaurant its located at Jesus Garcia avenue wich has become an excellent spot for food services in the past 5 years. The original building works as a grocery store that has been providing its services for more than 15 years, however the client wants to give a 360 degrees spin to his business turning it into a restaurant. This proposal is based in a steel structure that covers the actual building and its coated by reed letting the light pass by and working as a louver due the need of covering the second floor where the owners live. Reed its a local material and its used by the Yaqui tribe to build their houses. At the beginning the client wanted to make the restaurant using the irish pub style, but we noticed that making it a vernacular architecture was way more interesting mixing that together with regional characteristics turning this project into an unique contemporary trend, different to everything we see daily in our community.
