Under Armour worked with CUBIC to create a proprietary wall solution for the centerpiece of the store in Baltimore. Integrated into Corian wall panels, CUBIC’s D15 single-point display system is used with custom shoe holders to present a variety of footwear and merchandising.
For this flagship store for Under Armour, which opened earlier this year, CUBIC worked with the designer to create a proprietary wall solution for the centerpiece of the store. In addition, a new articulating shoe platform and surface mounted track system is used on tiered islands around the perimeter of the footwear area. Chandler incorporated the CUBIC elements into the millwork and fixtures.
CUBIC customized its Trax H3 slim horizontal slot display system for integration into Under Armour’s wood platforms. Shoe risers, engineered specifically for this project, pivot for precise angles and alignment. A co-injection-molded shoe platform with the UA logo and soft rubber “grip” material helps stabilize the shoes and provide branding. Integrated into Corian wall panels, CUBIC’s D15 single-point display system is used with custom shoe holders to present a variety of footwear and merchandising. The mechanisms engineered for the pivoting shoe risers required tooling and molded components.
Chandler provided engineering and production for the fixture/millwork package for the store, including the logo wall and wood cladding, cash wrap with Corian shroud and melamine cabinet, floor fixtures and tables, perimeter wall bays, wood slabs (with CUBIC track system integrated), and footwear are seating, fitting room doors and benches, and the central Corian shoe wall (with Cubic components integrated). Wood throughout is Douglas Fir, used in combination with steel tubing.
