New York-based boutique design firm Neal Beckstedt Studio recently has completed a model apartment at The Lucida on East 86th Street.
In designing the 5-bedroom apartment, Beckstedt faced two interlocking challenges: giving the place a contemporary slant in keeping with the architecture of the building and creating spaces that would appeal to a range of prospective buyers.
There is a muted color palette and furniture that reflects classic modern style throughout. While Beckstedt says that the developer, Extell Development, gave him pretty much free reign in creating the spaces, he selected some of the furnishings from the company’s warehouses and purchased the rest of the pieces.
